Recently I got to be acquainted with an African community and they taught me a new game.
No! It’s not Domino’s pizza! It’s a game. It’s Dominos. It’s interesting and brain jostling. And it’s way better than Carom.
Dominoes or dominos is a game played with rectangular “domino” tiles. The domino gaming pieces make up adomino set, sometimes called a deck or pack. The traditional Sino-European domino set consists of 28 dominoes, colloquially nicknamed bones, cards, tiles, tickets, stones, chips, or spinners.
What are the rules of dominoes?
Each player may play only one tile per turn. If a player cannot match a tile with one in the chain, he/she must draw from the boneyard until the tile that can be played is drawn. If there are no tiles left in the boneyard, the player passes his/her turn. The first player to get rid of all dominoes wins the hand.
Who invented the game of dominoes?
Many historians believe the game was invented by the Chinese some time around 1100 AD and it eventually arrived in Europe some time during the 18th century. A game similar to dominoes was also found in Tutankhamen’s tomb in Egypt, which dates all the way back to 1355 BC
How many people can play dominoes at once?
The four-player game with partners, in which each player takes 7 tiles and there is no boneyard and therefore no draw, is described on the partnership dominoespage. This game is popular in Spain and Latin America. In Puerto Rico when there are two or three players a draw game with seven tiles each is played.
